Cornerstone Christian Academy

My name is Megan Brunner. I live in Annandale with my husband Logan. This last winter, I completed my Biblical theology certificate through Reformation Bible College, and prior to that, I received my degree in graphic design from Century College. Today, I work at Heartland Evangelical Free Church as the Worship Ministries Director.

I have been immersed in music all of my life, beginning piano at age six. Being born in Nashville had its benefits as music was a large part of the culture—especially at church. After moving to Minnesota, I started playing piano on worship teams as well as singing. I did this with my dad and brothers as they also enjoy music. Throughout grade school, I took classes and was trained in the realms of songwriting, in-depth music theory, and choir. This classical training, paired with practical improvisational playing on worship teams, allowed me the ability to step into the role as Worship Ministries Director at Heartland. For the last year, I have organized and led worship, spanning numerous styles and arrangements of songs, while incorporating elements of choral music within the church. Prior to this, I was the worship director at Camp Shamineau for three summers, allowing me the opportunity to work with youth and kids, all for the furthering of Christ’s Kingdom.

All this to say, it is my joy to work alongside others and to share the love of music. It is a great blessing to watch others grow in the God-given gifts that they possess and to watch them flourish for Christ.

Hi! My name is Rachael Bomsta and I live in South Haven with my husband, our three boys, pigs, chickens, turkeys, bees, huge gardens, and one lonely mutt. 

I received my degree in Secondary Education from Crown College and received my MN teaching license in 2011. I quickly discovered, however, that my passion for teaching was instructing younger children. 

 I taught as a substitute teacher and eventually at a private school in Wayzata. One of my favorite classes that I was able to teach was a pre-K literacy program. 

I LOVE teaching kids through messes! I still occasionally get co-teachers commenting on the fact that I was the only teacher that somehow managed to get green paint on the classroom ceilings! 

Currently, I work at Heartland as the Creative Arts Director. I also have an online business called Healing Home. I am eager to start teaching at Cornerstone Academy and invest in the lives of these little ones! 

Hi! My name is Mrs. Knese and I am your new Art Teacher, I am bursting with excitement having you in my class filled with learning, curiosity, creativity and fun!

Here is a little bit about me! 

• I have been a believer in Jesus Christ for over 30 years and still continue growing in Him!

• I have my own business of Arts, Sewing – seamstress, Cleaning, Catering, and Home Care.

• My husband Doug and I share 5 children and 9 grandchildren.

My wife Barb and I are parents of four adult children, all homeschooled from kindergarten through high school. The three oldest have graduated college and are in the work force, the youngest is a junior at the University of Northwestern. All four are involved in some type of ministry. I hold a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in engineering-related disciplines and a Master of Arts degree in Bible & Theology. My teaching experience includes extensive work experience in the training of adults, teaching numerous adult Sunday School classes at Heartland EFC, and teaching many courses for Heartland’s Center for Biblical Studies.
