Mrs. Genet Van Kempen To All Instructors

Genet teaches Art at Cornerstone. She grew up in California and moved to Minnesota in 1997. She has 3 children, and two grandchildren. She was saved at 15 years old, and her life verses are: Psalm 23:1 “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul…” and John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.”

Her education includes Righetti High School, Allan Hancock College Associates, Adelphi Business, NAU, and Norhwestern Bachelor of Business.

She has been able to explore many countries, and most of the United States: Hatti, Israel, Greece, New Zealand, Hawaii, Mexico, Bahamas. Some places were on vacation, and some were on Mission trips. She has been a team lead in many organizations… BSA, Banking, and Management.

When she decided to step down from the corporate world, she decided to volunteer more. She has spent many hours with volunteer Organizations including food drives, Reading Corp, Missions, PTA, and Scouting. Activities at her children's school were as a Para, teaching math and reading skills. She has also been a Children’s Ministry Teacher and Leader at her church in Saint Paul MN, where her residence was.

Currently serving in Maple Lake Elementary part time, she has been in a school setting for 8 years and has been involved with youth programs for at least 25 years working with all ages of children.
